With Network as a Service (NaaS), you rent networking services from a third party instead of building and maintaining your own infrastructure. You then pay for what you use on a subscription basis. Resources can be scaled up and down as required.

(1) Cost efficiency: Businesses can significantly reduce their network infrastructure costs by moving to a usage-based model. NaaS eliminates the need for large capital expenditures on hardware, allowing for more efficient budget allocation. NaaS services are delivered in a subscription model, with flexible consumption reducing upfront costs and allowing for predictable budgeting.

(2) Simplified Network Management: NaaS services eliminate the need for businesses to manage their network infrastructure. Businesses no longer need to be concerned about network hardware refreshes, network software upgrades and day to day network operations. NaaS is delivered as a fully managed infrastructure as a service by Acend Cloud Solutions which offloads the burden of maintaining and monitoring network infrastructure from the business itself.

(3) Business Agility: NaaS offers the ability to increase bandwidth speeds and network ports for busy business periods thoughout the year with the flexibilty to scale up and scale down based on predicted business demands. For example in the retail sector, a business knows that they will encouter more traffic volumes to their websites during a particular sales event, businesses can choose to scale up during that that period to support a particular sales event due to increased traffic volumes.

(4) Rapid Deployment: NaaS services can be provisioned  quickly, no long term lead time waiting for connectivity to be delivered allowing businesses to respond faster to new opportunities or changing business demands.

NaaS is delivered on a per port basis to the client and gives the client the ability to interconnect their applications and services easily across a network fabric. Access to the network fabric from client on-premise locations is via site to site virtual private nertworks ( VPN) or service provider circuits. 

The network fabric is managed through automation and is fully virtulaized  through software defined networking. 

NaaS will be delivered as part of a minimum two locations per region ruling out any single points of failure and depending on client demands more locations will be added over time.

There is two connectivity options as part of  NaaS to connect client on-premise and cloud locations: (1) Site to Site Virtual Private Network ( VPN ) connectivity or (2) Client Owned WAN which allows the client to bring their own WAN circuits and WAN routers to the NaaS location to which peering will be established between Ascend NaaS and the client WAN. A third option of a fully managed WAN by Ascend bringing connectivity directly from client on-premise locations into a NaaS location will be available as part of future releases.

NaaS is a virtualized software defined network which provides for tenant isolated networks and separation of client traffic throughout the network fabric. Industry standards security protocols are used to separate traffic ensuring isolated traffic is maintained end to end throughout the fabric.

Reliability and availability is achieved by each node in the fabric being backed up by another node ensuring N+1 redundancy and multiple paths at all times across the Network.

NaaS is a subrciption based Cloud service and is priced per port and billed as part of a monthly operating expense.
